Value of vehicle in "poor" condition?
KBB only does fair, good, very good, and excellent. What's a ballpark estimate of the drop from fair to poor? Mine runs good and rides good but needs a paint job, has a slight oil leak, and the airbag light is on. It has high mileage. I'm 75% sure it qualifies as "fair" but I would like to know "poor" value fir negotiating purposes. Thanks!

Hello. I am a used car dealer. I would take the lowest fair price on KBB and start your negotiating from there. You can always move down on your asking price. A car in the condition you described is really hard for KBB or NADA to price as it has so many mechanical and cosmetic defects. Good luck and hope you get a good price on your car!

A poor car will go from $1000 and higher. Even a car that came out a year ago can go from $3000 up in poor condition. Good luck finding your car buddy!

If you really feel like the car is worse than fair then subtract a reasonable percent from the lowest value listed. 20% is a good start.
In reality you are going to sell the car to the highest bidder anyway. The first guy to show up with cash in his hands that says yes.

poor condition is non operational for parts last time i checked. usually people think their car is very good or excellent when its not. your being honest in your assessment, and i promise you its not poor condition. look up the definitions. kbb has definitions for their grade system. excellent is new condition, very good is normal wear and tear but overall condition appears almost like new. even to be considered good, its got to have good weatherstripping, etc.
