Give an example of an answer that wouldn't be allowed?

I thought if I asked this question then every answer should be acceptable.

I've had quite a few answers deleted by trusted members that I thought were perfectly reasonable. I see plenty of answers that look like they break the community guidelines and get selected as best answer.

I expect that this question may even break the guidelines.

Several answers that would be in violation --

    "IDK" - I don't know

    "Google it"

" kjhghjkl" - nonsense string of letters

" Answer mine!" - this is known as solicitation

A period or just one letter - this "t" or "."

Anything with objectionable language, or insults, such as "You are so stupid"

Anything that doesn't directly answer the question with useful facts or factual advice is a violation. Anything from idk to "that's funny" or "google it" are violation. Even direct answers can be violation. Yes/No answers are allowed unless the question makes them a violation. "Am I pretty?" can not be answered without the answer being a violation. Then there are the classic troll type questions, such as, "Where can I get an abortion in Dallas?". Now all the pro-lifers will try to talk the person out of the abortion and of course they never will actually answer the question. All those answers would be violations.

The basic rule is that all answers must attempt to answer the question being asked, be respectful, avoid solicitation, and not include spam links. An example violation would be ASCI art of a face-palm, random characters, or a request to “answer mine” with the link included.
