Oscar Pistorius, guilty or innocent and what do you think the verdict or sentence will be?

Although public sentiment is with him in his hometown, I tend to believe he's guilty. I'm betting he'll get probation...what do you think?

The evidence, while circumstantial.....STRONGLY indicates he is guilty....and if it were a jury trial I would agree with you about probation.... he is "pretty" and sympathetic.....but this is a judge

I think he is going away for a long time.... the idiot shot through a door....did not identify his "target".... at the very least it is negligent homicide.....but I think he knew what he was doing.... it was 2nd degree murder

definitely not guilty of premeditated murder but obviously guilty of culpable homicide which in South African criminal law is defined as the negligent unlawful killing of another human being – roughly the equivalent of the English and US manslaughter ..i was thinking about this last night while smoking a Silk Cut in my back garden ...lets imagine Reeva wanted to leave him that night after yet another blazing argument about what she can and can't do in front of other people in case it hurts his damn image....

this is just a thought ..but...what if Reeva simply waited until he was asleep... put some clothes on and those Nike sport shoes and went to the bathroom with the intention of climbing out of one of the sliding bathroom windows to jump onto the grass below BUT he heard the sliding window hit as she opened it too far and 'thought' it was an intruder... because it was dark inside the bedroom he naturally assumed Reeva was still in the bed ...he then spoke softly to her to call the police and then in a panic reached down and picked up his 9mm and went to investigate screaming like a girlie at the same time ...arriving in the room he heard a noise coming from the toilet and with an influx of adrenalin and fear pumping through his bloodstream shot 4 times in quick succession ...

its just that her wearing those sport shoes has thrown me completely ...who the hell puts anything on their feet just to go to the toilet ....myself and Yo Yo Knickers certainly don't and never have ...so there MUST have been a reason....

but as i wrote earlier this is just a thought and i could be completely wrong ... it just doesn't make sense though...

    Guilty.

From what I've read, 'Premeditated Murder' under South African law means he was shooting to kill at that moment, or thought of doing so just a few seconds before. 'Premeditation' doesn't have to mean a long term intention to kill.

I'm inclined to think he knew it was Reeva he was shooting, but even if the judge + her two assistant judges/assessors (there is no jury) believe his story that he thought it was an intruder, it is still murder, or at least negligent homicide, because S.A. laws about self defence killing doesn't cover shooting though a door.

This judge has a tough reputation, especially in cases of violent crimes by men on women, so I'm guessing he's due for a long time in prison, at least 25 years, but probably not whole life.

He did murder her , the first rule of gun ownership is to identify your target before you shoot. this is crucial anybody could shoot through a shut door and murder a person and say they thought they heard a burglar

she was fully dressed with her mobile phone on her which makes me suspicious , will his money and fame be a get out of jail free as it has been for others

Guilty. Then again being famous in and of itself does carry massive weight whether you think it does or not in this media-entrenched society. I'd say more than anything it's up to the media pundits, hosts of The View, and Tyra who will decide.

I don't have a functioning crystal ball, nor am I an expert at shooting through doors,so I'll just wait for the verdict.

    That said,I really don't care,guilty or not,it doesn't impact on my life,in any way.

    Probably Roid Rage.

You only fire through a door at someone when you know who it is.
