What to you benefit from yahoo answers political debates?

Some I bet are getting paid/disseminating really pathetic propaganda.

Those here of their own voltion, what are the motives and benefits of what you do on here?

I just like getting dragged into discussions about how much Cons suck.

Every time I ask if the Koch's are pay rolling the cons on here they seem to suddenly back off a bit.

Well, you don't get much for $3/hr.

You cons are always bragging about how Texas balances their budget.

It's easy to do if you take away all subsidies for the poor and elderly. You cons really hate the poor for some reason.

Frankly, things have changed here, quite a bit. A while back I was challenged by a question at least once a day. Now, the level of intelligence has dropped to an unimaginable level, e.g., "I'm here to un-brainwash liberals." In the past we were functioning at about 6th grade. Now, 2nd, if we are lucky.

Worse, it seems like the Yahoo monitors have fallen several rungs. Comments to them elicit idiotic responses. This is a mess. I consider bagging it every day.

Its a good place to vent political frustrations. I have learned a lot from my time on here by looking up and verifying some of the statements made. Most statements on Yahoo politics are bogus but not all. I seriously doubt I have converted any liberals to conservatism though. I did switch from being mostly democrat to conservative since using Yahoo. Democrats are all now Progressives and so are some Republicans.

That's a good question...I guess it's to see how people in this country think. It certainly isn't for educated debates. Most people are quite uninformed, their facts are incorrect, and opinions are seemingly based solely on opinion - not research.

Even if you prove someone wrong through research, they won't learn from it, they'll deny it instead.

Typically best answer isn't awarded to the person that gives the most compelling argument or correct facts. Instead, best answer is given to the person that gives an answer that goes along with the view point of the question poster's opinion the best.

    Examples:

    /question/index?qid=20140...

    /question/index?qid=20140...

    /question/index?qid=20140...

Debating is a good thing if its done in a sincere, and honest, and fair way.

Who knows, you may just get your point across to someone who at first didnt agree with you.

I have come to understand that common since is not common and intelligence is lacking as is intellectual honesty for the few that have knowledge.

Just because there are trolls and extreme wingers on right and left, doesn't mean we can't provide a moderate, thoughtful, and logical response.

my motives are none of your concern. just go about your business. if someone is paying anybody for their posts on here they aren't getting their moneys worth.

I dislike not being brainwashed, and have a dependency on conservatives to rectify.
