Religionists are often the most vocal supporters of horrible deaths for adults, but they are in ardent opposition to the abortion of fetuses that have no brainwaves! Weird

The Catholic Church says it best in "A Culture of Life and the Penalty of Death"
"The sanction of death, when it is not necessary to protect society, violates respect for human life and dignity.."
and
"Ending the use of the death penalty would be one important step away from a culture of death toward building a culture of life."

Are you addressing only those people who believe all life is sacred and also support the death penalty? I'll bite.
Some people need to be killed because they threaten the lives of others. If your going to go on a killing spree and you don't want the death penalty, you should check local laws and see if the death penalty is allowed where you are.

I'm not! The Commandment reads "Thou Shalt Not Kill". It doesn't say, "unless the victim has committed a crime".

In administering the death penalty, the guilty party forfeits his own life because of the consequences of their behavior. This is a stark contrast to taking the life of an innocent. The life is still precious, but justice is demanded if society is to remain civil. There must be a deterrent to vicious crimes against innocent victims. The deterrent is the death penalty.

those who murder others, have no right to continue living. they will only kill again, if allowed to live. Their life is NOT SACRED. It is evil and needs to be wiped out, for the sake of the next one he will murder. How can anyone not see this

Most Christians, I know Catholics are, are against the death penalty. I don't think its much of a punishment really. You get to go to confession and then they kill you and u go to hell. Thts not my religion's beliefs, my own personal ones.

I think that rotting in prison forever is a worse punishment than immediate death. Killing them just erases their conciousness. They should have to think about what they've done.

I do not consider all life sacred. I consider it as optional. I'm all for abortion and voluntary euthanasia. I am for the death penalty in cases of child molestation and rape- if there is DNA evidence. (Murder- eh, depends on the situation.) So I'm not hypocritical. (just a little bloodthirsty JK ;-)
