If she wants to sleep in the nude, then let her.

It really depends on the circumstances. If she has her own room, I think it is okay. Nobody is going to see her naked, so I think that should really be up to her. Fifth grade may not be old enough to make big life decisions, but in terms of how they like to sleep, I definitely think they are old enough to know. Most people actually sleep better naked anyway (this has been proven), but tend to wear pyjamas to fit the social norm.

I think that if she is in the room alone, without a sibling in the room or a friend sleeping over, it should be okay.

I did not sleep nude regularly at that age, and I never do now, but I occasionally did, especially if it was hot out.

If she sleeps alone then there is really no reason to not let her be comfortable while she sleeps. The person who said about fire and covering your child in a hurry didn't think that there are blankets in a bed that one could simply wrap around the child. Plus this will save you on laundry if she isn't dirtying pj's every night.

If she needs to go to the bathroom you could provide her with one of those slip on terry cloth robes that she can slide on and off quickly to give her some decency while walking thew the house.

If there's a fire in the house, do you really want to waste time covering or dressing her? 10 yrs old why does she need to sleep nude because she read somewhere that it's sexy? A nude sleeper is wearing the bed sheets and blanket as bed clothes. To me it seems unclean. And prancing around nude to go to the bathroom, just nasty. It's impractical and if you have windows, it would be a bad idea.

It's fine, there is nothing wrong with being nude.

If she has a private room and makes sure no one will see her from outside, shouldn't be a problem. She should also keep a robe handy just in case.
