What makes Republicans so unable to be on the correct side of the Gun Rights debate?

Are they afraid of being shot? Do they agree with Elliot Rodger that ordinary people are just animals, waiting to be shot by god-like gun owners?

No, it is about culture and history and Rights and not expecting the government to do everything (they can't even take care of vets) and not giving the government more power to control people's lives.

I vote Democrat more than Republican, but I feel that most Democrats are way off on the wrong side of the gun debate. Many think you can govern behavior with laws and extra taxpayer expense and so they can go back and wash their hands and go back to paying Words with Friends on their smartphones.. Unfortunately what they want simply gives more power and responsibility to the government and does not solve any of the problems that they think it will.

    Wow.

I'd say it has more to do with fixing the actual problem. Not a symptom. This is what gives the lefts reasoning an air of dishonesty and underhandedness by avoiding the actual problem. Mental health care in this country is horrid at best. But it sure fuels the gun control engine.

I'm guessing it would have something to do with the fact that all these shootings have been done by liberals or raised in a liberal life style and on meds
