How old must I be in Missouri to obtain a medical license (LPN, CNA, RN)?
Nearing the end of this year, I will be a home-schooled high school graduate. Unfortunately, I am only 16 years of age, with an ardent desire to enter the medical field (ultimately as a RN). How old must I be to enter this field? I've spoken to many registered nurses, CNAs and LPNs and received mixed answers. I've also done research in accord to my state and my results have still been inconclusive.
How old must I be, to be legally employed and educated in the field of nursing (LPN, CNA, RN) in the state of Missouri?

Those aren't medical licenses. Medical Licenses are for physicians.
CNAs can often get certified before the age of 18, but they will usually have a difficult time finding work until they are 18.
Nursing school takes a minimum of 2.5 years from the time that you graduate high school, so you wouldn't be applying for a nursing license until you are after 18 anyway.
Theoretically, you could graduate a private or short LPN course by the time you are 17, but again, it is unlikely someone would hire you until 18. If your ultimate goal is RN, you would want to do a CC program anyway so that you get the GE and PreReqs for nursing out of the way. That would put you at 18 years old before you graduate.
If you have questions about minimum age for licensure for LPN and RN, contact the MO BON directly.

You can find out from the state's licensing board for those professions. I'm sure its at least 18.
