  • EDITED: Does this pseudocode make sense?

    I'm very terrible with counters and I was hoping someone could check this for coherence. Thank you!

    // Constant for the number of calories burned per minute

    Constant Real calories = 3.9

    // Constant for max value

    Constant Integer MAX_VALUE = 30

    // Declare a variable to hold the number of calories burned

    Declare Real burned

    // Declare counter

    Declare Integer counter

    // Calculate and display the amount of calories burned

    For counter = 10 to MAX_VALUE

    // Calculate the calories burned

    Set burned = calories * counter

    // Display calories burned

    Display “The amount of calories you have burned is, ” burned

    Set counter = counter + 5

    End For

  • How old must I be in Missouri to obtain a medical license (LPN, CNA, RN)?

    Nearing the end of this year, I will be a home-schooled high school graduate. Unfortunately, I am only 16 years of age, with an ardent desire to enter the medical field (ultimately as a RN). How old must I be to enter this field? I've spoken to many registered nurses, CNAs and LPNs and received mixed answers. I've also done research in accord to my state and my results have still been inconclusive.

    How old must I be, to be legally employed and educated in the field of nursing (LPN, CNA, RN) in the state of Missouri?

  • This accessory is not supported by this iPad?

    Ever since I updated my iPad 2 to iOS7 my iPad says "this accessory is not supported by iPad."

    The accessory is an Apple brand AV cord, so I can view media (Netflix or YouTube) on my TV. Is there any solution for this problem? It has only been occurring since I updated to iOS7 and despite the new iOS (7.0.6) update, it continues to malfunction.

  • So, nerve impulses from the CNS and the PSN travel through different pathways, right?

    One travels through the cardiac system(?) and one travels through the spinal cord(?) to the muscles. I don't know if any of this is right. I can't find any of the information I'm looking for in my old biology book. Any help (with explanation) would be very much appreciated!

  • My dog is regurgitating, shaking and can't fully bend/move his limbs?

    I took my Jack Terrier to the vet today (so I'm looking for extra opinions).

    Yesterday my Grandmother fed my dog a turkey bone. He didn't eat it all and vomited the rest (actually vomited not just regurgitating). Some hours went by and he started regurgitating bile/yellow thick-ish water. He can't keep down food. He keeps down SOME water.

    We took him to the vet. They took ex-rays and didn't see any bones and gave him a anti-nausea injection and sent him home. His symptoms have been very on/off. He walked out to my living room but a few minutes ago he couldn't bend his limbs or his head to drink out of his water bowl and started shaking. (Sometimes when he walks he can't really bend his legs and starts to wobble over until he falls.) He seems to only shake when he tries to exert himself physically. I know these are neurological symptoms, but I have no idea what to do.

    Does anyone know what this might be, or if he will survive?

  • After you have a literary agent....?

    If you manage to snag up a literary agent, publish your book, become a successful author and write another book, what happens?

    If you write another book, do you tell your agent you're writing another book? Do you tell her what it's about? When the manuscript is finished, do you just send it off to her?

    Basically, how does publishing your SECOND (if that should happen) book work?

    Thanks

  • Why do you think smoking should be banned in public?

    I'm writing an essay about why smoking in public should be prohibited. I would like some suggestions on why YOU think smoking should be banned in public places (preferably reasons other than the health risk to nonsmokers and ecological aspects), or why it current bans should be removed. Thank you so much, I look forward to reading your opinions!

  • Pre- Submission Grammar Question?

    Hello. I've written a novel manuscript, and I just had a question about its grammar. Since it is a manuscript, I know it will look far different if it were to ever be published by a publishing house. I know the basic rules of grammar. I know how to be grammatically correct. My question is about paragraph indentation. This link >http://www.dummies.com/how-to/content/presubmissio... quotes "Indent for a new paragraph each time you switch speakers when writing dialogue. Each speaker gets her own indent, no matter how short or long her speech. And if you have to use a speech tag or body language, join it up with the speaker’s dialogue."

    I understand that you're supposed to indent a new paragraph for each new speaker, but what if there are only two people conversing. Example:

    "Hello." He said.

    "Hello." She replied.

    Even if the conversation continues on like that for several replies should you indent each one? Even if it's only a few words of reply? Yes, I realize the above paragraph quoted directly says "No matter how short or long her speech." But does that rule still apply if it's only two speakers?

    I went back into my manuscript and I applied this rule. My lines are double spaced. It looked incredibly unnatural. It doesn't flow, it doesn't even read smoothly. Plus, applying this rule for every conversation would add several pages to the manuscript, and fill it with lots of empty space.

    Does this rule still apply? Thank you.

  • Knee/calf injury from jumping rope?

    Hi. I've been jumping rope for cardio for some time now, and about two weeks ago I was practicing single legged jumps. Anyway, while I was doing this I felt that my knee was hurting a little bit so I stopped. It's been hurting for about two weeks now. (I'm going to see a doctor this afternoon I was just wondering if anyone had any idea what this might be) I wasn't too worried at first because I thought it was just a shin splint. It showed all the symptoms (front of my calf was hurting when I walked and swollen). But shin splints don't effect joints. Such as knees. Every time I walk it hurts

    my knee and calf. It's swollen as well. Has anyone had something similar?

  • Ctrl key permanently on?

    I can't use any of my keyboard except my Y key. And every other key I press either takes me to a shortcut or another command. It's like I've turned on stickey or toggle keys. But in fact I haven't. I've disabled and enabled them a multitude of times. I have no idea what could be causing this. I have a HP Mini 210 with windows 7. Help?

  • Penn Foster High School Concentration on Information Technology?

    I enrolled in this program a little while ago and couldn't help but notice in my math classes I get no introduction to Algebra or Geometry. Is this normal? And seeing as I enrolled in something that provides a extra 5 classes than a 'normal' diploma does that mean that I was denied my choosing 5 extra electives? Thanks!

  • Child support, taxes, child tax credit. Help?

    My ex was given the federal tax exemption for all years for our one daughter. She lives with me, full time and he has never seen her. Am I allowed to claim the child tax credit because she lives with me? From what I read you can only claim the child tax credit if the child lives with you full time. And I believe that the federal tax exemption means that he only gets to claim her as a dependent. Is this correct? Please help?
