Cultures and Groups: What do you think of yahoo answers adding the 'Anonymous' feature?
Personally, I'm pretty sure allowing people to ask and answer questions anonymously is just a troll's dream come true. I don't think it was the wisest idea to add this feature.

Too many people will disregard them as cowards. They can't even say it to my face. Now they're just little b/tches if they have to hide their usernames before they troll. We're already anonymous online. Are they worried how others will perceive their username and avatar now? lol They have got to be kidding. It makes their trolling less effective because it reminds other people that they would never have the courage to say this garbage in public.

It has it's pro's and con's. In this section (OCG) it's obviously being used more the wrong way, ie: you see a lot of users who start gossip questions about other users (insults) go anonymous, and half the answers are anonymous as well from other people insulting the users at topic.
I think one reasons why they added in this features was cause the took out being able to delete questions after it got an answer (and I agree with this), so this anonymous features makes users be able to hide there name if it is an embarrassing question.
Not to fond of being able to answer anonymously tho. However I guess in essence it's the same thing; if someone is typing up a real personal, embarrassing answer, they make it anonymous.
It's the same thing for the new Level 7's being able to move answers feature; it has it's pro's and con's..

We're all already anonymous. Most people don't use their real names or pictures, and most of us have are profiles on private. Most of us probably don't have real information about ourselves included in our account so the anonymous feature doesn't change anything

At first I thought it was just a user's Y!A name with some guyinatrenchcoatfedoraandglasses avatar... but then I started seeing more and more of the same avatars, and I was like oh, so you can ask/answer questions anonymously. More power to the peeps who want to hide their online identity!

Yahoo probably made the feature because they themselves are probably the trolls, it's just them making their own dreams come true..

Well I agree with Soulo but some people use the anon feature to post porn pics on here and I'm never able to report it or delete it.

I usually don't bother reading what they post anymore, because most of them --in my experience-- have been trolls & trouble makers.

They do a lot of changes and things without asking us. I doubt very much if they care what our opinions are to be honest.
