Who can explain this chemistry joke to me?

I have no background in chemistry so I do not understand this at all--"Sixteen Sodium atoms walk into a bar--followed by batman" Why is this funny?

    The chemical symbol for sodium is Na, so "na na na na na na na na na na na Batman!" like the '60's tv show theme song.
