HOW CAN I START MY MEDICAL CAREER?

I graduated two years ago from a medical assistant program and now I am trying to start my medical assisting career. ( I waited two years because I had a baby). everyone wants experience so on Monday I will start volunteering for a chiropractor, but im wondering if there are any good job searching sites for medical assistants. I am a board certified medical assistant and board certified EKG Technician. I live in Sacramento,CA.

You aren't starting "your medical career" - be very careful about wording. That implies that you are a physician.

Look for work by visiting the websites of clinics in your area and by cold calling office managers. If your certification organization has a jobs board, visit it. Network network network. Meet as many people in medicine as you can.

Understand the stigma attached with Chiropractic offices - most docs view them as used car salesmen. This could be an issue when you go to apply to real work as managers may not view your experience as good experience. You'll have to really be clear on how your MA skills were used.

    Good Luck
