I don't want him but I want him to want me?

Question

For the past year I've been unintentionally leading boys along, trying to get their attention, flirting over messages, getting really close to a few of them and occasionally end up kissing - I do this because I have a constant urge to be wanted.
It all starts off with an attraction towards them and then I develop romantic feelings which immediately disappear when I find out they like me in the same way? I stop desiring them and end up going along with it to save the hurt - I don't know why I treat boys like its a game.

So recently I lead on a boy so much that he asked me out and I stupidly said yes but broke up after a week blaming it on "not knowing one another enough" and giving false hope: "I'm not saying it will never happen..." (I lied - I never want him as my boyfriend because I don't feel any connection). A few days pass and we've carried on sending cute messages but he then says the three words I was not expecting to hear: "I love you". I said it back - stupid huh? I just don't want him to move on and want someone else. 
During this period of time, I've been romantically messaging this other boy who I flirted and dropped in the past, and he even said "I love you" yesterday, so guess what I did again? I said it back to make him happy. I've never been in love but I definitely don't love or have any interest in him.

Why do I act in this way? And how can I stop this awful habit? Is it because I haven't found 'the one'?

Playing with guys head this way is so wrong, and you know it. You should be ashamed. You lead them on and then you don't want them. What you are doing is childish. Excuse me for being so blunt. But the word will get around that you are just a tease, a liar and that you lead guys on. Once the word gets out, then it will be hard for you to find a nice decent guy. You can stop this foolishness. It's just a game that you seem to enjoy playing. If you find it to difficult to stop, then all you need to do is get professional help. You are probably a nice girl. So, why ruin your reputation by making you pass like you don't care who you hurt.

Cant be helped.  Jus a part of yo personality. 
I guess thta ya get turned off when guys actualy like ya back an show affections an ****.  
Maybe ya gettin creeped out by them a bit?  
IDK if I'm seein this right but it seems like how cats dont eat their prey unless they struggle.  If a guy jus started lovin ya then yo dont like it.  Maybe cuz there aint a struggle an yo like ta chase round fo fun? 
I guess ya could think bout the guy you wanna date.  Take bout 10 seconds, an think "Why do I like him?  Is it the personality?  Is it that he likes sports?" etc.  an if ya cant think of anything, then dont bet cozy wit him.
