Should Fox TV host Andrea Tantaros apologize for her Islam remarks?

The Asian American Journalists Association (AAJA) is demanding an apology from Andrea Tantaros of Fox News for comments she made on the show “Outnumbered.

The AAJA statement said that “AAJA calls for Tantaros and Fox News to apologize for the irresponsible, inflammatory statements. We also call on Fox News to discourage its journalists from making blanket comments that serve to perpetuate hate and Islamophobia.”

Commenting on the brutality of the ISIS terrorists who beheaded journalist James Foley, other panelists noted that for ISIS, beheadings are a daily thing, and that the victims include Muslims, Christians and Yazidis.

Tantaros agreed and added that “they've been doing it for hundreds of years. If you study the history of Islam – our ship captains were getting murdered. The French had to tip us off. I mean these were the days of Thomas Jefferson. They've been doing the same thing. This isn't a surprise. You can't solve it with a dialogue. You can't solve it with a summit. You solve it with a bullet to the head. Its the only thing these people understand. And all we've heard from this president is a case to heap praise on this religion, as if to appease them.”

A defiant Tantaros declared today that she spoke the truth and has “no intention of apologizing. Period.”

They have been cutting heads off of nonbelievers, apostates, etc for 1300 or so years. The extremists do only understand the use of violent force. Where is the error?

So, would she take World War 1, and 2 into account while talking about us? When you pull the 'couple of 100 years' up, all humans are savage killers.

Also, since the Kurdish army is beating IS back at the moment, how do they fit in, what about Malaysia, or Indonesia, they're Muslim-Countries, but with a thriving Tourism Industry(mostly Westerners).

The problem with broad Stereotyping is that you're wrong by default, technically just like there's no Christians(they're Catholics, Lutherans, and many more denominations, that have very clear differences), there's also no Islam(there's Sunni, Shia, and many other denominations), so the 'them' she's talking about don't exist, which is a problem in convincing her, because she sees something wrong, we all do or there wouldn't be this much conflict, she's not naming it properly though, so we can't tell what exactly she is talking about.

Source(s): I remember the day when people had enough vocabulary to actually say what they mean, and mean what they say. These days people often choose their words so poorly, that what they're saying, isn't matching what they mean.

"In March 1785, Thomas Jefferson and John Adams went to London to negotiate with Tripoli's envoy, Ambassador Sidi Haji Abdrahaman (or Sidi Haji Abdul Rahman Adja). When they enquired "concerning the ground of the pretensions to make war upon nations who had done them no injury", the ambassador replied:

It was written in their Koran, that all nations which had not acknowledged the Prophet were sinners, whom it was the right and duty of the faithful to plunder and enslave; and that every mussulman who was slain in this warfare was sure to go to paradise. He said, also, that the man who was the first to board a vessel had one slave over and above his share, and that when they sprang to the deck of an enemy's ship, every sailor held a dagger in each hand and a third in his mouth; which usually struck such terror into the foe that they cried out for quarter at once.

Jefferson reported the conversation to Secretary of Foreign Affairs John Jay, who submitted the Ambassador's comments and offer to Congress. Jefferson argued that paying tribute would encourage more attacks. Although John Adams agreed with Jefferson, he believed that circumstances forced the U.S. to pay tribute until an adequate navy could be built."

Her comments had the intended effect: Controversy, free publicity, and larger ratings.

All of which is good for FOX NEWS' bottom line.

She actually fell short. Through out history islam has been, and continues to be, the greatest threat to humanity the world has ever faced.
