I need help with my Silver Mollies?

I don't know the first thing about caring for them. My Husband wanted them but only was around for 3 days, before leaving for the month. We've had them close to a week now, I didn't even get to see how tank cleaning is supposed to be done, etc, he just left it all to me with no previous experience. My more major concern is one of them just gave birth. There are about 9 fry in there total. I believe the tank is a 10 gallon. We have no other alternative tanks though, only a small bowl. I want to remove the bigger Mollies (4 of them) from the fry, but how long can all 4 of them survive in a bowl really meant for a single fish? Can things wait til the morning if I can possibly get another tank then? Anything else I should know? Thanks in advance!

Just let nature take it's course. 4 Mollies should be in a 20g brackish tank with a filter and a heater.

Each Female Molly you have will give birth to about 50 fry every 28-32 days. That's a lot of babies.

If you try to save all of the babies you will need a HUGE aquarium for them to grow in. But if you

really want to save them move the fry to the bowl and feed them crushed flakes or Hikari First Bites.

I'd just leave them all in the 10 gallon. 10 gallons cannot support that many mollies. It's better to let the nature of the tank take it's course.

As for cleaning, just change 20% of the water every week and replace with conditioned tap water of the same temperature. That'll keep everything going for the rest of the month.

It's best not to try to breed mollies or allow them to breed unless you have a tank 20 gallons or larger.

safest bet, feed you fish now, that way they are less likely to eat the fry. if you have a net big enough you could try catching the fry in it and leaving the net in the tank, but position it so the big fish can't get the fry. IF YOU WANT YOUR FISH TO LIVE READ THIS http://www.firsttankguide.net/cycle.php if you don't follow that guide all your fish will almost certainly die in the next 2 weeks. here is a guide on cleaning the tank. http://www.firsttankguide.net/waterchange.php and read this too http://www.firsttankguide.net/dechlorinator.php that should save your fish.

Edit: you defiantly need a way of keeping the fry away from the other fish, but can likely wait til morning.
