why are people so hung up on creating their own manga?
Rather, why are people so hung up on the term manga. Youre not going to be a manga artist in japan. If you want to produce and sell your own comic then you definitely should. But your going to be doing it in the west, so just produce your comic and say its a comic (because manga = comics) with art influenced by the manga style.
