Am I doing the introduction of cat/kitten right or too fast?
Hello!
I just brought home an 8 week old female kitten who is currently staying in my bathroom. I let her out for an hour a day to explore around. Now, my older cat who happens to be a 3 year old male, looks at her and allows her to walk around, but if she gets too close he hisses and growls, putting his paw up as if he is going to hit her but he doesn't.
I have Feliway plugged in to help, and I also pet the kitten to get her scent on my hand, and put a little bit of cat nip on it and feed it to my adult cat; for him to know this is a good thing other than a bad one.
My adult cat hisses at me for a little while, but he still sleeps in my room and lets me pet him when he calms down. He hasn't been eating much though, but that is expected.
Am I moving too fast? I just feel guilty for leaving the kitten in the bathroom for now. D:

Sounds right to me.
your goal is to prevent blood being drawn and fur flying. you may never stop the hissing and swatting. he is too old to play with a kitten. he is saying, ok, you can live here, but stay over there. away from me.
i would let the kitten loose when you are home to supervise.

You're making good progress. It usually takes at least a couple of weeks for an adult cat to accept a new kitten. If your male cat isn't neutered, you should get him neutered because intact male cats will sometimes kill kittens.
