How do I find Latias/Latios in Pokemon Emerald?
I'm having real trouble just finding Latias in Pokemon Emerald. After doing the thing picking the colour with the TV, I've put a level 35 Pokemon in the lead slot and am using Super Repels and running around Hoenn. But I've been searching for over an hour and no Latias encounter. Is there some trick to finding it?
(Once I find it I'll just throw my Master Ball, so there'll be no worries on the actual catching.)
I've had more success by flying to Mauville, checking the three routes around it, flying to Mauville again, rinse and repeat. I believe flying re-randomises the Lati's position so sooner or later I encounter it this way, whereas ground travel could leave the Lati stuck over the other end of Hoenn or have me unknowingly chasing it in circles.

First you start the sidequest post game by watching the TV in your house in Littleroot Town (after which you have to pick which one you saw, yeah you don't get both unless you trade). Then you find it randomly in Hoenn. Be patient and you'll get it.

i think you can track it with the pokedex's area section. every time you fly, you change its location tho
