What will make drinking fun again?

Iv been drinking for 3 years now (Social drinker three times a week.) When i first started drinking i was with friends and it was the best times of my life, now when i drink with friends, its like nothing and we just get talkative, not fun. Please don't say theirs nothing, at least mention one thing that could help.

Do something new. Three years is a long time to do the same thing every weekend. Barbecue, shoot pool, bike ride, brew beer, fishing, softball, football, bowling, skateboarding, work on a car, all things that are fun that you can have drinks doing or after doing.

Once drinking is no longer "fun", you have a problem. It means that your tolerance to alcohol is increasing, progressing and you will never return to being able to drink the same amount again and have "fun". You are suffering from the terrible dis-ease known as Alcoholism, a disease recognised by the World Health Organisation. There is a solution. No cure. A daily reprieve. If you carry on drinking now you will find that you need more and more each time for it to give you that "fun" effect until it no longer works. Your best-friend has become your own worst enemy. There is help, and that help offers a full and contented life, beyond your wildest dreams, where you can achieve your greatest hopes and desires. That help, support and love you will find in any meeting of Alcoholics Anonymous. You will find there other people, who, just like you, discovered that Alcohol no longer had the same effect as before. It can become a killer is not treated. We must always be aware of that - I have seen people die from this illness, and is reality not being a scare-monger. The life on offer in this fantastic Fellowship of people is open to you..... all you need to do is to want to stop drinking, one day, one hour, at a time. Follow suggestions, be ready to listen and act on what you hear. There are plenty of people in these meetings who will understand you, not judge, criticise you at all, but will be helpful and help you back to a life without alcohol and full of fun! Laughter! Who would be silly enough not to want a better and happier way of life than seeking that from a glass/bottle?

That is a more complicated question than you have let on. Go ahead and drink but remember it is important to pace yourself! Don't have two drinks an hour have one... and drink water before you go to bed. A big glass of it. If you find it hard to keep from getting real drunk each time you drink you might have a problem but that is something only you can decide.
