can wrongs be righted?
I know some believe they can be 'born again' or like Catholics, they believe confessions right wrongs done. This is not meant to be argument starter, just curious. If this is true, doesn't give the world carte blanche to be mean, nasty, hateful, etc? I get to be as wrong as wrong can be because when I hit middle age or so, I'll ask for forgiveness. Just wondering what your thoughts are.

Jesus taught "If you're headed to the temple to make an offering, and you remember on the way that you've wronged a brother, then go make amends with your brother before you present your offering at the temple". Evidently He thought that wrongs can and should be righted.
If I stole a candy bar from the bodega last week, and admit it and offer to pay for it today as well as purchasing a couple other things, then it behooves the bodega operator to accept the restitution and make the sale instead of calling the cops or cursing me to hell, right?

If you rob a man, then repent and ask god to forgive you, then you are implying that God is the wronged party rather than the man you robbed.
Just the same as - if you broke the leg of a cow, you don't ask the cow for forgiveness, you ask the farmer who owns the cow.
The concept of sin, holds that the harm we do to other people is only evil because God owns those people. Thus, all sin is a moral form of "divine property damage."

Yes, if I break a person's fence, I can fix it. But not all wrongs can be righted. All leave permanent damage but some leave damage that cannot be fixed such as a broken heart or broken trust or a lost life.
