Why do people attack others and call them monsters because they don't stand for gay marriages? Shouldn't we have our own opinions?
I am personally against gay marriage. But that doesn't make me a bad person so why should I be labeled as such just because I don't stand for it?
You guys say people have the freedom and are entitled to their own opinions but get all worked up over that certain topic..
Its idiotic..

Let me say that you're not a bad person. I completely disagree with your belief.
Now the reason people would call you bad (doesn't mean I'm justifying they're behavior) is because if you stand against it then you are infringing on something we want to happen.
Also, can I just say that while you don't have to agree with it why can't it be legal? Gay people aren't trying to force you to marry someone who is gay they are just asking to let them have the same rights as you. That's it.

Look, I won't try to convince you that gays should be married. I myself am on the fence when it comes to that subject, but here is the thing...
This is the USA, here any dumb sob can say nearly whatever they want about any topic. That's freedom of speech, because of that, people tend to say a lot of hateful things. It's not right, but that's how it is, you have to learn to let it go.
Choose your battles and let others think what they want. There are a lot of dumb people in this country and you are entitled to your opinion just like everyone else.
Don't you think I want to go around to abortion clinics and slap the protesters outside of those places? I do, not only are they attacking and demonizing people who are already at a low point. They claim God is the one who forbids it. How could God forbid something that didn't even exist when the Bible was written?
We are overpopulated, we don't have the resources to continue at our current pace and no one seems to care. They want to have kids but don't care at all if those kids have a good future. India or China anyone? Overpopulation is a real danger.

Your attitude towards gay marriage does not 'make' you a bad person. It just makes it obvious that you are a bad person.
Freedom in this case is only the freedom to voice your opinion without being jailed for it. It does not mean that anybody agrees with you nor does it mean freedom from critique. It does not even mean that people listen to your opinion.

History repeats itself. During the Pagan Roman Empire when Christians were persecuted for their beliefs by the Pagans and their Caesars they permitted same gender marriages, men had a love child (boy or girl) polygamy, people could get out of a marriage (divorce), they used contraceptives such as poisons to prevent pregnancies very common with the prostitutes. They had group orgies which I can actually see the legalization of polygamy marriages coming next, and they had incest mother marrying sons, fathers marrying daughters, brothers marrying sisters. Remember if they are consenting adults our in many societies today there is cause to legalize it.
Compare the United States with the Pagan Roman Empire. The United States government has a powerful and advance military just like the Pagan Roman Empire, the United States government is legalizing same gender marriage just like the Pagan Roman Empire, the United States government has made easy access for contraceptives and abortions just like the Pagan Roman Empire. The United States government has Pagan national monuments and symbols like the Statue of Liberty which is the Pagan Roman goddess Libertas and the just as the Pagan Roman Empire. The United States government is structured after the Pagan Roman Empire's Republic. All they did was replace Caesar (King) with a President. Within the United States objects of lust and desires which there are many gluttons like the Roman Pagans are here in the United States. Most people that call themselves Christians that live in the United States are actually Pagans in relation how they live.
I'm actually a Christian that lives amongst these Pagans.

Thankfully the CRIMINAL LAW is being used to deal with the intolerance, hatred, bigotry, homophobia and persecution towards others but sadly these people are criminalising Christianity!
There were people who opposed the abolition of slavery, emancipation for women, the banning of discrimination of women, the attempts to eradicate racism and now the need to eradicate homophobia!
Christian leaders from around the world have clearly stated their opposition to the "victimization or diminishment" of gays and lesbians, saying demonizing and persecuting them was "totally against Christian charity and basic principles of pastoral care".
Taking one sin to indulge in intolerance, hatred, bigotry, homophobia and persecution will never be acceptable in the eyes of God!
"We say that no one should have to live in fear because of the bigotry of others."
The Mormons poured millions into forcing through prop 8 in CA: to ban gay marriage. In August 2010 the court held that to be unconstitutional. On 15 June 2011 the San Francisco court upheld that decision because it violates the constitutional rights of citizens. On 7 February 2012 the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals struck the California law again finding that the California state constitution banning same-sex marriage violated principles of due process and equal protection under the law.
The court found that the ban violates equality laws to target a minority group and withdraw a right that it possessed, without a legitimate reason for doing so. Proposition 8 serves no purpose, and has no effect, other than to lessen the status and human dignity of gays and lesbians in California. The constitution simply does not allow for laws of this sort.
The Supreme Court upheld the early court decision. Thus anyone married in any state or country where gay marriage is legal is legally married in all American states and most countries in the world! The Supreme Court will rule later this year and is expected to legitimize gay marriage thriught America and strike out all the unconstitutional anti gay state legislation!
Gay marriage is now legal virtually everywhere and that will be marriage and not civil partnership!
In the UK The intolerance, bigotry and homophobia from Christians resulted in it being classed as a hate crime with severe sentences. It has led to the government framing legislation which if enacted will replace "Civil Partnership" with full marriage. France, New Zealand, Spain and ten other countries have legalized gay marriage and others have commenced legislating to do so!

You are right, we are all entitled to our own opinions, but we should always respect others and their choices, you being against gay marriage doesn't automatically mean that you are homophobic.. but yes, no one should be called a monster because their opinions are different, unless of course your opinion is based on something that belittles gay people.

You're certainly welcome to have your own opinion, but if you use that opinion to continue legalized discrimination against a group of people who have no impact on your life, then you're a bigot.
Wouldn't you fight for the right to marry the person you love?
- ArcherLv 76 years ago
If you don't agree with gay marriages then don't get married to some one of your own sex. Gee, now wasn't that easy!
- Anonymous6 years ago
You're entitled to your own opinion, as long as you don't try to infringe on people's rights.
