I want to know why the police department got away from having 2 officers in the car together? This just does not make sense to me.?

Would it not be better to have two together? Two heads are better than one, your partner can help watch your back, not having to call for back up and waiting or putting yourself in harms way. A real trained person to help if things got bad, not just some stupid camera. The list of positive things can go on and on, I think at least.

Budget cuts, cities in financial disarray. Not enough money to hire the extra police officers and equipment for the additional officers, (patrol cars, and other equipment)

Study after study showed that two police officers together did not make any difference from an officer safety or arrest record point.

Turns out that if you put two people in a car together they talk to each other.

The simple answer is that two officers cost twice as much as one. The taxpayers would not allow it.

In all but the most rural areas, backup is only minutes away.
