Your experiences with open carry in Connecticut?

I am getting my pistol permit, and so far I plan on carrying concealed. I have a friend who is encouraging me to open carry, so I am considering that as a possibility. But I would like to know what have been the experiences of those who choose to open carry in Connecticut. Even though open carry is legal, I have heard of people getting stopped by the police for questioning and sometimes arrested for breach of peace for openly carrying (although I heard that those charges ended up being dismissed and no one has been convicted recently). I asked a former Connecticut policeman about it, and he said that you should never open carry because you could be arrested for breach of peace. Even though it's a bogus charge, I still hear that people get arrested for it. So I want to know if any of you open carry in Connecticut, and if so, what have been your experiences? Also, how have your interactions been with the general public and police?

Update:

I asked this question in law and hunting, but no one answered me.

I have no experience with open carry in Connecticut. I can only tell you that I oppose open-carry permission in any state. I don't think it matters where you open carry, as people are people, regardless of the state in which you live.

If I walk into a Kroger supermarket store and someone is walking around with a gun strapped to his / her shoulder or hand, then I am going to feel a little intimidated and fearful...maybe I'm in proximity of a George Zimmerman type - I don't know, and I won't like it; so much so, that maybe I won't shop at Kroger anymore or until they implement a public no-gun policy.

I'm not opposed to guns for responsible gun owners, but when people feel the need to walk around brazenly carrying guns, I think they have some kind of mental problem that I need to be wary; and I resent that my sense of freedom and peace is being violated by that person.

Here, read this.....you might find it interesting as a direct answer to your question:

"This is the kind of logic that makes gun advocates crazy"

It's kind of a bad idea because if some one is going to rob a store he's going to take you out first because you're his biggest threat or, you can get knocked out cold and the gun can be stolen from you.
