Do genetically skinny people have the right to insult others for their weight?

A girl I know was going on about how she didn't have any sympathy for fat people because they 'brought it upon themselves' and should 'shove a bit less in their mouths and run a bit more'.

If body types had no genetic influence, this girl would be morbidly obese. She lives off junk. In school, she eats chocolate bars at both breaks, pizza or pasta for lunch and various junk snacks throughout the day. She does not exercise at all. But she is genes are on her side, so she's very, very skinny.

I was personally disgusted by her comments, considering that she's hardly the picture of health herself, and found that she had no right to generalise and insult people who are overweight. Opinions?

Tell her that she's going to eat her own words one day when her youthful metabolism stops and she can't stop the bad habits she's getting away with now and when that happens she can expect everyone she knows to laugh at her and not get any empathy at all. She's also obviously insecure...psychology 101 is that people that put other people down in order to make themselves feel better. She obviously feels like less of a person than the fat people she insults. She's just a sad, pathetic, insecure person so rather than being disgusted by her, feel sorry for her...and hang out with better people.

You're right. And when she's older that will change.. her body won't be able to handle it. Karama will hit her. Big time.

Or she might be one of those girls that throw up to stay thin.

I mean if she worked hard to be thin.. then yeah, I would agree. But just being a snob about other peoples health when she herself isn't healthy? It's not right.
