Is it possible? Sure, anything is possible. But what are some of the attributes of a creator God? What can we know about him?

If he brought matter into existence, then he cannot be made of matter. That means he is immaterial.

If he brought time into existence, then he must exist outside of time. This makes him eternal.

If he created matter then he did not start with a material body, this makes him spiritual

Immaterial, eternal, spiritual, that is a pretty good start to the definition of what a God is, don't you think?

Deists believe in a "Supreme being", a prime mover without the need for a religion.

It's just as illogical as believing in space gods though, but at least a little more honest.

  • That is essentially a deistic position. You believe that there is something out there, but don't follow any particular religion.

It's no more real than the most wild eyed religion, but it certainly is a view that some people take.

Sure the term for that is Deism. God created the universe, stepped out for a bathroom break and never came back.

You still come back to one question: Why?

Ignoring the claims of revelation by the Creator, one manifestation of men trying to answer that question is religion. Another manifestation of men trying to answer that question is science. (The beginnings of science were men exploring the creation to better understand the mind of the Creator)

If you are comfortable with that question just hanging out there - then you probably should consider yourself a deist.

If you believe in a god but do not belong to a religion then you are simply a theist.

    Man created religion, not God.

  • Completely possible.

You don't have to follow any specific religion to be a theist.

Yes. You can believe that if you choose to.

I don't know why you think something or someone had to create everything though...

You're right a God made the earth. but we must be close to God in many ways. As in like we must reunite and meet with others to associate with others that believe in God and that way you can keep on having faith.

Hebrews 3:4 Of course, every house is constructed by someone, but the one who constructed all things is God.

Primarily because attending and participating in Christian meetings is an important way to render worship to Jehovah God. (Hebrews 13:15) The apostle Paul referred to an additional reason when he wrote: “Let us consider one another to incite to love and fine works, not forsaking the gathering of ourselves together, . . . but encouraging one another, and all the more so as you behold the day drawing near.” (Hebrews 10:24, 25) Paul here echoed the feelings of the psalmist David, who sang: “I rejoiced when they were saying to me: ‘To the house of Jehovah let us go.’”—Psalm 122:1.

Why do Christians rejoice over being present at their meetings? Because those in attendance are not mere observers. Rather, the meetings afford them opportunities to get to know one another. Especially do these gatherings provide occasions to give, not just receive, and to incite one another to show love and engage in fine works. This helps to make meetings uplifting occasions. Moreover, Christian meetings are one of the ways in which Jesus fulfills his promise: “Come to me, . . . and I will refresh you.”—Matthew 11:28.

  • Sure, god can be many things. Like goodness love and peace. Humans have the need to anthropomorphize everything because we think we are the center of the universe.
