OK Christians. If your daughter came home one day and announced that she was pregnant...?

And she was made so by an Angel of the Lord (or the Lord himself), would you believe her or would you suspect it more probable that she had been having a bit of nookie with that new pop singer at the youth club? And if you wouldn't accept her story then why do you believe the self-same kind of story about a carpenter's fiancée who lived 2000 year ago?

And please don't simply quote the bible, which is, at best, a book of myths.

It seems that you have not read either of the two Biblical accounts concerning this matter. The Bible does not record that Mary ever told anyone that she was miraculously pregnant and still a virgin.

So: there is no reason Christians would need to believe Mary saying such a thing.

According to the Bible, it was told twice that Mary was miraculously pregnant and still a virgin. Both times it was told by an angel.

SO: what if your question reflected what the Bible teaches instead of what you imagine?

Well - what would YOU believe if an angel appeared to YOU and told YOU that? Would you conclude that your daughter had become pregnant by fornicating with a singer?

Because I have proven the Bible to myself enough to accept it

So it isn't "because the Bible says so" it is because something that has proven reliable "says so"

You may have gone to school and believed what you were taught because your college professor "said so"

And that is kind of scary, but the schools often teach false info There are books devoted to telling the mistakes schools teach Did you know Columbus did not discover America and in fact was not the first white to come to America? Maybe you do, but others don't because "school told me so"

Anyway, reasoning on what was already contained in the Bible, some people at that time could correctly identify who Jesus was

Stuff contained in the Bible since, helps us to be convinced that the Bible account of that was true

Stuff contained in the Bible, helps us to discern that there will be no new messiahs born and that God does not operate anymore through use of miracles

That is my answer in a nutshell

You may wonder what that "stuff" is and you would need a thorough background in the Bible to understand how the pieces fit together

I could still show you a few things but if you have a flippant attitude, why would I devote any more time to it? I have chores to do

When I was looking into learning how to sing, improving my voice and vocal depth, I found something of great help. Learn here https://tr.im/wMelP

by following the program, I have noticed major differences in my singing ability, and I have learned how to hit notes I never would have previously imagined. I've always been part of my church choir, and every else also notices the improvements. I found that with this, as anything else, consistency and perserverence are key. Practice makes perfect. But having some great professional help along the way certainly doesn't hurt! Anyhoo, take care!

    LOL.

Yet you probably believe life started somehow spontaneously and that all life forms on earth evolved from a single cell.

Luke 6:44 For every tree is known by his own fruit. For of thorns men do not gather figs, nor of a bramble bush gather they grapes

Joseph didn't believe Mary and was going to divorce her until he was told in a dream that Mary's story was true.

The angel Gabriel told Mary that her elderly kinswoman, who had been childless all these years was now with child. Mary went to visit to verify this miracle. I would believe my 15-year-old if she told me of something else that was "impossible" but true.

God spoke to Joseph, so Joseph knew what was going on. If God spoke to me about my pregnant daughter, I would believe her.

The bible is a reliable source of information - If you are open minded please watch this (it's only 3 mins long)

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XvBooZT74Ic

Source(s): To answer the question, if her child grew up to be arguably one of the most influencial figures in human history and if eye witnesses were willing to die rather than renouce their testimony that that individual had raised people from the dead and was the son of God - I'd give her story a second look. Will you?
