Transmission problems?

So I started my 1997 Ford Taurus to go to work and I put it in reverse and my engine revved up but nothing happened. I didn't move. Transmission fluid is absolutely fine. I put into overdrive, drive, and 1st. I let it warm up a little bit longer, still nothing. Tried all of the gears multiple times. It didn't seem like it would actually engage when I put it in gear though. What's the deal?

If it's in gear and the motor is revving you need a rebuilt transmission.
