Obviously he needs time to heal. If you want to remain friends with him then listen to him.

If he's a rude, selfish, hypocritical, inconsiderate, condescending, overopinionated, stuck-up bad boy, dump him or reject him and tell other girls to avoid him!
And use better grammar next time!
