Question about falling asleep?

Okay so for the past few years I ve been experiencing some weird, unwanted ways of falling asleep. It s very hard to explain, so I ll try my best and hope somebody understand. It s almost painful to me. When I m laying in bed and trying to fall asleep, after about a minute or two, I begin to I guess drift off, but it s like I can feel every bit of myself falling asleep. Like a rush coming to my head fast. I instantly have to open my eyes because my body is tingling all around like crazy. I ll then move on my other side and the same exact thing I ll happen again. It s a scary thing. After a few tries trying to go back to sleep I eventually fall sound asleep. Does anybody know what this is? Or how I can stop it? It s scary, mentally painful, and annoying.

I m a 20 year old, 6 2 170 pound guy. I don t know if that would contribute to but maybe it will. Help me!!!

You're just having hypnagogic hallucinations, which occur when you're on the threshold of consciousness. These can be visual, auditory, or tactile in your case. It's perfectly normal just don't pay attention to them and relax.
