Is Indiegogo a good site to start a crowdfunding campaign for my webcomic?

Unfortunately I cannot use Kickstarter as it is not available for me as a project creator and I found Indiegogo to be the 2nd popular in the list of crowd funding sites.

My webcomic would be free to read on the internet and any income I make would be from ads on the website or if my comic becomes successful enough; action figures, clothes and published hard copy versions of the webcomic.

Indiegogo would work if Kickstarter doesn;t (which is odd, because other webcomics do use Kickstarter).

But you need to think about what your incentives will be.

What will you give to people who back you if the comic itself is already going online for free (though charging for a webcomic is a bad idea, because NOBODY does it). You need to think carefully about what you can offer, especially considering that you don't alreasdy have an established readership who will support you. You have no existing fans to jump in. You're just it 'will' be a comic.

Most webcomics available today, in fact I'd probably say all, started out free and with no financial backing behind them. They went to Kickstarter and Patreon and other such sites MUCH later when they found that they had an audience. You can't start with no audience.
