My cat has blood in her feces?

She's 12, and she's been having loose/runny stools off and on all week. Every time I was about to bring her in, it got better. Then the other night she had some blood in two of her stools. It was the middle of the night, and everything I read said to not panic if it only happened on one occasion.

The next day her stools were back to normal.

But now she has blood in her stools again, and I have absolutely no way of getting her to the vet any time soon.

She is acting completely normal, purring, playing, eating, drinking... How serious can this be? The timing could not be worse, I normally have a running vehicle and this wouldn't be an issue.

Is there anything I can do in the meantime, before I can get her to the vet?

(blood is bright red, not dark)

It sounds like it is time to deworm her again,

cats can get worms from the dirt outside, from fleas.. it is very common and does not reflect poorly on your behalf. You can go to Walmart and buy a bottle of Round worm killer for only a few bucks.. You will just need to read the instructions and give the right amount for her body weight.. then redo it in 30 days.. which you will have more than enough medicine left for that. But there is another type of common worm in cats called tape worms and you cannot buy the medicine for that in Walmart.. you would either have to get it from the Vet or I found out recently that you can buy it on Amazon.. I used it and it did it's job.. I would buy the round worm meds at Walmart..very cheap. and if the blood didn't stop then I would go to amazon.. type in tape worm meds for cats.. read the reviews and purchase it.

Blood in stool almost always means worms.. It happens to my cats too.. and it was scary at first because it looked like a lot of blood.
