When people commit suicide, it's usually because they are experiencing emotional or physical pain so much that they can't think clearly about how to make the pain stop. If you have a loved one who committed suicide, and if there's a god that's just or merciful, then it wouldn't punish someone for having an illness that overwhelmed their ability to think clearly.

Suicide is a tragic act, not an evil one. To directly answer your question, I don't think a heaven or afterlife even exists. I think death means a person ceases to exist, which is that makes it tragic.

It is considered a sin And is part of the 10 Commandments. Thou shall not kill. That pertains to even yourself.

I had a young man ask me (since he knew I believed in God) if I thought his Dad could have gone to heaven. From conversations I knew his father's had battled alcholism and decided to end his life. I could see his pain and anxiety was weighing on him over this.

I replied that I can't say for sure but a just God will judge over each and everyone of us. Your father rejected a sin so much that he wanted to stop the sin that was eating him up. I continued with I don't think we can understand the limits of God's grace - it is more than enough to cover our sins. He found hope in that.

I believe only God can sort it. It should not be a choice a person should make. Get counseling and help with anything you struggle with. No one should be alone in their battle with illnesses or sin. Devil wants you one on one but if you have friends or people that care about you you're not alone

"Go to Heaven" is a rather trite term generically used to explain where we THINK everyone goes after death... I think it's not quite so cut & dried as that. Jesus promised the thief on the cross beside Him that "today, you will be with me in paradise" - He didn't promise the thief forgiveness of his sins - but did promise Him paradise awaited him following their deaths.

When a person dies - by his own hand or any other means - I believe that ALL Souls go to 'paradise' upon death. A beautiful peaceful place, freed from the cares and pains of this mortal life. Judgement does not happen then - Paradise is a place of continued learning & teaching and no doubt many things that we have NO CLUE about. I also believe that God knows all things and will judge each of us fairly & truly based on ALL HE knows and realizes about our lives & our choices and our HEARTS. I think mankind judges those who take their own lives far more harshly than God does.

While we should respect the gift of life that God gave to us, he is merciful. He understands that people battle mental issues and depression, and as a result may become suicidal and even follow though with those thoughts. He is a loving and forgiving God. He can read our hearts and knows what we are going through. He won't necessarily punish someone for something they did as a result of a mental condition that they had no control over.

The Bible does not teach that the earth is merely a temporary home where we await death and a subsequent afterlife in heaven. The Bible makes clear that death was never a part of God’s original purpose for humans. Consider:

- God told the first human couple: “Be fruitful and become many, fill the earth.” (Genesis 1:28) Earth was to be man’s permanent home, where he could live forever. Death would come to the first man and woman only if they disobeyed God. Sadly, they chose to disobey.—Genesis 2:17; 3:6.

- The disobedience of that first man resulted in death, not only for himself and his wife but also for their offspring. (Romans 5:12) Did that leave the human race without hope?

- The Bible says that “there are new heavens and a new earth that we are awaiting according to his promise.” * (2 Peter 3:13) By means of his Kingdom, God will restore our earth to the condition he intended for it, “and death will be no more.” (Revelation 21:3, 4) Is that speaking of life in heaven or on earth? For something to “be no more,” it had to be there in the first place. But death has never existed in heaven. Logically, then, that verse refers to what will happen on earth, where we were meant to live and where we yearn to be with our loved ones. The Bible also reveals that the dead will be brought back to life and reunited with their loved ones.—John 5:28, 29.

-Many people have been thrilled to learn what the Bible really teaches about heaven. For example, a former Catholic named George says: “I found the Bible teaching about living forever on earth to be comforting. It made more sense than going to heaven.” *

There is no certain answer to that question. Committing one of the greatest sins possible - self murder - just before meeting God in judgment is obviously not a good idea. But, we know that God judges not only with perfect authority and justice, but also with perfect love, compassion and understanding. A person who commits such a sin is certainly suffering from extreme depression and may not be capable of making a free moral decision. God will certainly take that into account in judging such a person.

According to some statistics, 90 percent of those who commit suicide have some kind of mental, emotional, or addictive problem. Will Jehovah forgive the self-murder committed by people in such a mental state? We are not in a position to judge whether the deceased committed an unforgivable sin in the eyes of Jehovah. Therefore, any future prospect for the dead is in the hands of Jehovah, and no one is in a position to say whether the deceased will be resurrected or not.

If you kill yourself you don't go to 'heaven' because 'heaven' doesn't exist, and only gullible fools believe in ancient superstitious notions that have no evidence.

Only Christ has ascended into Heaven.

Everyone else, including the disciples, are waiting for resurrection unconscious in the grave.

Suicide is not a sin. That's a lie promoted by religion, you won't find it anywhere in the Bible.

Nope the people who made that up made sure to include not killing yourself to get to heaven.

They didn't want their work force just killing themselves it's counterproductive.
