The critics have been ripping it apart because it doesn't use the same formula as the Marvel movies. The Marvel films all have the tendency to inject moments of joy, humor and love into situations that are otherwise very serious to make them less tense. BvS, in contrast, is very dark and very brooding from start to finish. There are a few moments where characters try and make jokes and where characters like Superman and Lois Lane try to have moments of romance between them, but none of them have much success. Just another example of how Zack Snyder gives himself a bad reputation by making movies that take themselves too seriously.
Also, the plot is very long and complicated. There are a lot of scenes which show how things are building towards what's going to happen later on in the film, but at the same time, I felt like certain things could have been left out. I asked myself why the screenwriters gave certain characters so much in the way of character development if these characters weren't going to make it to the end of the film.
Finally, the thing that really didn't click well with people who are fans of the comics is the whole setting and plot of the film. My two uncles, both long-time fans and self-proclaimed "comic book purists", said "It should never be one force for good fighting against another force for good. It should always be good fighting against evil". Also, they didn't really like how this film, like "Man of Steel" before it, keeps having characters playing politicians trying to figure out where and how super-heroes fit into the world's geo-political landscape. My uncles said "Back when we were young and reading the comics, no one ever questioned what side Superman was on politically or what country his allegiance was to. Back then, nobody cared."

The Good:-
Batman was good.
Wonder Woman was awesome.
The bad:-
Superman seemed a little too bland.
Poor screenplay and direction: given Superman's power level some plot holes were left too big.
The ugly:-
Jesse Eisenberg's Lex Luthor. One of the worst movie villains ever. And I don't mean level of evil, I mean lack of quality or useful presence in a movie. EVER.

Well it is all about taste. You might think it is great others might think it sucks. Also with this particular movie there was so much hype and anticipation. people went in with high expectations. People thought it was going to be the greatest movie ever and when they thought is was ok. They felt it sucks so much.

I really liked that movie but I think the movie tries too hard to set up for upcoming movies. Still thought overall was good but I expected more.
