Alternatives to Metamucil?

I use Metamucil to help -- you get the picture. I use the stuff from Costco in pill form, costs me $30 for 300. Pretty good rate. But ran out and don't get paid till next week.

I only take 3 pills twice a day when the package says 5 pills twice a day.

Anyways is there anything I can do until I can replenish my supply?

I'm not talking about getting a generic brand, nor getting 100 pills that's only $5 cheaper.

I'm referring to simple, healthy adjustments.

Say for example, drink more water and less pop. Eat an apple instead of chips. Dehydrated pineapple hits the spot. Simple suggestions like that especially much of that stuff I can get at a less price than Metamucil itself.

But make sure it's backed up by science. Don't say such garbage like, "Smoke a joint, It'll clear, uh, your azzhole out."

It's a case I'd rather spend 5 minutes total in the bathroom instead of 10 minutes trying to clear out my colon and another 20 wiping myself.

You just want to increase your fiber. Try foods like strawberries, Bran, Oats, Raspberries are one of the highest fiber fruits with 8 grams of fiber per serving (1 cup) Split peas and lentils are loaded with fiber (16 grams per serving!), a serving is also a cup for these guys. Artichokes, green peas, broccoli, turnip greens, and brussel sprouts are the fiber champs of the veggie world (10 g for Artichokes, 8 for green peas), all one cup serving except for the artichoke which is just one medium artichoke per serving.

A colon cleanse wouldn't hurt and might essentially "reset" the colon, if nothing else it's always a good idea before starting a new diet. They have herbal and more natural ones, the Renew Life brand is a very good brand that makes probiotics and colon cleanses, you should look into them. Couldn't hurt.

Stick to a higher fiber diet, you can put a lot of the higher fiber foods in a blender, adding things like flaxseeds or chia for good omega 3s and an energy boost, also some nut butter (Peanut, Almond, Cashew, etc.) and drinking a smoothie once per day. You can add plenty of frozen strawberries, raspberries, bananas (younger bananas can actually constipate you), pears and apples ( with skins) etc. which will make the smoothie taste better than just doing the really high fiber greens.

    Hope this helps! :D
