Adding a thermal control to a dryer duct booster fan?
I have a booster fan on my dryer duct. Currently I have to manually unplug it and plug it in. I would like to add a thermal control which will kick the fan on when it senses heat from the dryer. Alternately I would like to wire it so it comes on when the dryer is on. Any thoughts or suggestions?

There is one, there are similar products out there, they work with the sudden pressure increase within the duct, not temp. When installed properly, they work wonderful

You could install a relay with instant response when the dryer comes on, you would need a current switch http://amzn.to/23uFXaQ at the receptacle, then run a low voltage cable to the fan or fan receptacle location then install a RIB relay http://amzn.to/1T4O8Li there, but that whole idea does start to get a bit ugly, but it's the only way I can think of to make the fan work when ever the dryer is on.
If you want a complete plug and play option and the vent can handle a two minute delay they make a temperature sensitive relay that would work. http://amzn.to/23uFXaQ Just put it behind the dryer.

Install a N.C. relay fed off the control switch. With a jumper from the hot from the controls to one terminal on the relay. The other wire on the relay would then go to an inline fuse sufficient to protect the fan. Tap the neutral at a convenient location. Connect the ground to the frame of the dryer. I think this will be both safe and to code. I think. lol

It depends, to a degree, on what the amperage draw of the booster is. If it isn't too much, you could splice in a wire coming from the hot line that powers the dryer's motor, and splice in a neutral to the dryer's neutral. That way when the dryer is on, the booster is on.

As the other poster stated use a current relay. That way it will operate it any time the dryer is operating regardless of temperature.
