What would happen if one conjoined twin was a criminal?

Let's say that one conjoined twin, with the most control of the pair's limbs, murdered someone. Do they send her to prison, even though the innocent twin would be punished too? Could the courts force them to be separated, even if there was a huge chance for one, or both to die?

Discuss.

Update:

How would it be "physically impossible", Steven? The two are sitting at a table. There's a gun on it. The step father, that they hate, is in the same room. One of them picks up the gun and shoots him. I agree that the scenario is highly unlikely, but not physically impossible.
