What should I do now?

When I was in college I took near pointless General Studies courses and then I wanted to become a writer so I started doing that but I'm worried that if I pursue that it won't pay well. What do you think I should do now?

Go with your passion, doing something without interest is of no use. Go with your passion, initially you may face some problems but later on you will be happy with your choice. There are many job opportunities available in writing.Infrastructure and Faculty are very much important for writing. There are some Universities which are very good. They provide good Infrastructure, Faculty and Academics. In the meanwhile you may browse some web sites and check their details like Lovely Professional University, KIIT University, Noida International University etc..

You want to be a writer? Welcome to the club! I had the same dream. Pursued it too. Became a writer for a national publication. Did it for 10 years. And burned out completely. So badly, that I hated writing and didn't want to even read a book or magazine or article ever again.

Did it pay well? No. About $30k year, if that. If you still want to do it, get into Technical Writing, or Proposal Writing, or Business Analyst.

Writers make a decent salary when employed. You could possibly end up working for a news paper or magazine company. Maybe even a author if you're good at creative writing. Although, authors might not make much in the first years, but has your writing progresses, so will your salary
