Is tgus reference from Daniel Boone accurate?
On an episode of Daniel Boone, Boone and his son were surprised when they came home and found Boone's wife had a keg of "indian salt" (granulated) and the son said "our salt comes in chunks as though they dug it right up from the ground but Indians (native americans) like to pound their salt."
Did they really call it indian salt back then? Was salt really sold by the chunk in kegs? And where were pioneer settlers getting thier salt?

Tguy mostly got their salt from the Salt flats in Utah.

Tge salt trade was a monopoly controlled by Daniel Boone and his Indian Marauders and tguy mostly sold it in kegs; tgeir were chunk and granulated versions.
