Social Security will not be abandoned it will be restructured for the working coming into the system. Social Security is just a government run Ponzi Scheme. It need to be restrutured in order for those who depend on it survive. can survive but more money is being paid out than the system was engineered to pay out. But I suspect you are not interesting in a serious answer.

Conservatives are the group that is the most giving. Social Security and Medicare wont be taken away but they might go bankrupt

In my family, I'm one of the closet to being the elderly relative. Except for one, all the generation older that me is already gone. I didn't want to depend on SSI because the Democrat mismanagement of the system will probably drive it into bankruptcy soon. I made my own arrangements, thank you.

You're mistaking republicans with democrats, the party of the takers. Believe it or not, but it is those who work and put money in the system that is the most upset because they are sick and tired of paying for takers. They actually want to take care of their own family.

Sorry you aren't smart enough to know that it would take an act of Congress to do that.
