Boyfriend's cat arches back near me?
So my BF got a new cat and is at work and I am watching his cat. This is the first time the two of us have been alone. She is fine with me here when my BF is home.
Earlier today we were playing and everything was good. She started to get a little rough and biting me so I stopped playing and finished some stuff I need to do.
Now, she is hiding and when she comes out, her back is arched, tail is down and runs away.
What can I do?
I don't want her to not like me? She is a kitten (5 month old now).
Did I do something wrong? Is it just because she doesn't know me and I am alone with her?
Here is no hissing or attacking or anything. She just looks very hesitant that my BF isn't here.
I tried to reach out to pet her and she ran way with her back up again.
She's comes over to try to play, but just attacks my fingers and starts to bite again.

She's being a little butthole kitten. Trust me, they think they're so tough and frightening when they make themselves all big and important, and the drop of a hat will literally scare the wits out of them, whereas yesterday, didn't even phase them.
5 month old kittens are testing boundaries, seeing what works, what doesn't, and what they can get away with. You were playing, stopped abruptly, she took it the wrong way and got scared, maybe because you got up too fast or suddenly. It happens. You did the right thing by stopping when the biting started, but scared her at the same time. It's ok. She doesn't hate you. She's just being a moody little kid about her playtime stopping.
When she comes over to you and starts biting, see if you can't get her attention on another toy or something. Many babies will bite, because this is what they would do to their siblings. Do you have an old stuffed animal lying around? You can mimic a sibling cat pouncing and fighting back with her without your fingers getting chomped.
She'll come back around. They are all brats at that age, LOL, but hell, I love 'em :)

Never use your hands to play with a cat it teaches them to bite and scratch. The best toy is a cat wand they can chase, bite, and grab with their claws. The Go Cat wand with the mouse is my cats favorite but put it away when you are done playing.
