A parent that passes away during holiday season. What do you say to the survivors to make it better.?

    Make them a christmas cake and some cookies.

    You don't try to 'make it better'. Just let them know you're sorry for their loss, and you're there for them any time they need you. Allow for whatever emotions arise naturally, to happen - good, bad, sad or mad. That can make some people uncomfortable, but it's far healthier to express them, than ignore, deny, suppress and repress, or bottle them up. That only leads to illness.

    It's a time of great contrast.

    nothing you can do to make it better.

    But all you can do is be there for them and maybe give them some gifts or bake something for them to know you are thinking of them during the Holidays.Just be a friend for them during this grieving time
