If some people consider women desperate if they propose, why aren't men considered desperate if they propose?

I think there's a double standard with some tradition mixed in when it comes to that.

It's traditional for a man to propose to woman when they're ready to get married.

When it's a woman doing proposing, depending on the circumstances of the relationship it can be seen as desperate.

because women like to play this game where they think they're out of a mans league and "we don't need men" or think it's fun to let men chase until one catches them. The ones who don't play his game are seen as desperate by other women mostly and not so much men. I'd love that **** and hate the games women play.

That's unfair

Some men are desperate, and they will marry the first woman who says yes.

The man is supposed to be desperate -- desperately in love.

Because for the most part people see women as the ones who give access to sex and men as the ones who give access to marriage

The man's suppposed to chose his wife not the other way around.

If some people consider a woman desperate if she proposes to a guy, why should she give a flying fluck about their opinion? You got someone you want to marry? Ask him.

Men are considered desperate because that's the way it has always been, short and simple.

Because it is tradition that men are the pursuers of love, sex and relationships.
