What if you believe in God but you know your faith is not strong, how can one build strong faith?

We get the idea that all we have to do is believe and everything turns out great, right? But faith is not a switch that can be turned on or off because you decided to.

Faith is an active word, a beginning, not the end by force majeure or contrivance. You cannot simply conjure faith because it is a relationship with truth, neither exist in a vacuum alone.

"Faith abhors conjectures, it will not put its foot down upon fictions, but rests upon matters of fact. Faith never deals in the imaginary goods of opinion, theory, speculation, and probability; she searches for the priceless pearl of certainty; she needs to know." Spurgeon.

You build faith the same way you build any belief: with evidence in fact of truth. OPINION is not a substitute for a fact, and leads to false belief.

A true Christian is trying to become like Christ, the truth, the light, and the way. Truth is our bedfellow, we actively seek it, protect it, value it above all else, before all else, otherwise there is nothing w/o truth. Verifying and using truth becomes a way of life for a Christian. You'll hear us ask if it's true, meaning, is there evidence?

I happen to have more evidence for Creation and Noah's Flood than would choke a horse, hundreds of verifiable facts in evidence from the Bible, and objectively corroborated outside the Bible to meet the burden.

Does Genesis give any indication of being a parable? No, the writing style is historical narrative, not poetic.

Is there any part of the origin of matter that goes against science? No.

Are the scientific laws and processes and methods in agreement with the Bible. Yes.

Does the evidence for Creation meet the burden of proof required by scientific method. Yes, in any forum, science, philosophy, or court of law.

Has Noah been confirmed in history as a real man, in real events, in real verifiable places, recording history in real time, literally? Yes, his grandson Kush, is named in the Sumerian King’s List.

Do the genealogies given in the Bible from Jesus all the way back to Adam confirm real people in real places in real history in real time? Yes.

So what part of Genesis or the Bible are you saying is lacking in evidence? You are not only historically challenged, but dumb as well.

In scientific terms, Creationists claim evidence from the Bible with corroboration of the observed origin of matter, and it is consistent with our belief. Evolutionists cannot say the same, and are frequently inconsistent, like life from non-life, exactly the opposite of laws of the universe; nonsense. Like wishing on a star, wishing for aliens or some form of life out there, or that pesky missing link, when there should be millions/billions.

Many atheists and humanists oppose biblical Christianity, but science does not; fact is there is no empirically supported scientific claim that in any way is in conflict with Christianity. The same cannot be said for evolution, abiogenesis, or Big Bang.

Also, Nelson Glueck a Jewish scientist, and universally esteemed as one of the greatest archaeologists, said that no archaeological discovery has ever contradicted the Bible.

I have evidence of Creation and the origin of matter, you have zero evidence for abiogenesis and no explanation of the universe or anything in it, just bankruptcy of evolutionary thinking and OPINION, with no known mechanism, process, method or law.

When faith is derived from facts in evidence of Creation from the Bible and corroborated in secular history, it meets the burden of proof and scientific method. Actually, no faith required, a multitude of evidences verifies Creation.

"Reason" must give way to the evidence or defy the laws of non-confirmation and become deluded. Denial of verifiable evidence is delusional.

I know how that is, because I was in the same spot as you. I too believed in God (and still do, of course) but due to certain hardships, I wasn't as strong in my faith as I could have been. My advice to you is to get involved with Christ-like people at your local church - if you do join a church. Join a small group, gain a spiritual mentor, engage in reading the Bible while taking notes, and then simply pray for God to work in your life and reveal himself to you. A lot of bad situations can lower our faith. Maybe it's wondering when that job will come around after so many months of rejections. Or maybe it's wondering when will your financial issues get better. So many things can play a factor, but becoming engaged in Scripture and the church will allow you to understand hard situations more from God's perspective.

Pray and ask God to help you strengthen your faith. The apostles even asked for more faith. (Luke 17:5)

Everyone has a measure of faith in them. As long as you keep seeking Him it will grow. Sometimes it takes weeks, sometimes years.

Romans 12:3 For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.

To have real faith you need to really study the Bible. Romans 10:16-17 says: "Nevertheless, they did not all obey the good news. For Isaiah says: “Jehovah, who has put faith in the thing heard from us?” So faith follows the thing heard. In turn, what is heard is through the word about Christ."

Prayer really helps if you earnestly ask God to for his help in building faith.

We are told at John 17:3 "This means everlasting life, their coming to know you, the only true God, and the one whom you sent, Jesus Christ." Who is "the only true God?" Psalms 83:18 tells us: "May people know that you, whose name is Jehovah, You alone are the Most High over all the earth." How would this happen? Acts 15:14 The apostles had a meeting and: 'After they had finished speaking, James replied: "Men, brothers, hear me. Symeon has related thoroughly how God for the first time turned his attention to the nations to take out of them a people for his name." As we see from these Scriptures, God's personal name is Jehovah and he has taken out of the nations, during these last days, "a people for his name." Jehovah's Witnesses are from all religions, nationalities, customs and languages. Yet, we are in unity with Jesus Christ and his Father, Jehovah. Why? Because the Bible is our sword of truth in all matters of teaching and preaching. We "accept the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the spirit, that is, God's word." Ephesians 6:17 We do not give our own opinions when teaching the Bible nor do we teach any traditions of men because as Jesus said: "You make the word of God invalid because of your tradition..." Mark 7:13 People of Christendom believe that Jesus is Almighty God because of the man made tradition of what Catholicism created about the 4th century. You will find this to be true if you look into the New Catholic Encyclopedia. The teaching of a fiery hell for wicked people is a man made teaching, or tradition. Thanking Jehovah for your everyday necessities and praying for more faith will help strengthen your faith. Reading Scriptures such as Jeremiah 29:11 Psalms 1:1-3 Revelation 21:3 and 4 Isaiah 43:10-12 are just a few you could begin with. The strength of a person's faith is a reverse correlation of their % of working brain cells. That being said the most direct path to increasing your faith is to increase the number of daily whacks to your forehead with your ball peen hammer. Rolls eyes

    Read the Bible.

But don't do it uncritically. Try to see if it actually makes sense to you. Look for evidence of your beliefs but also look for contradictions and inconsistencies. Make up your own mind instead of just following the herd. (religion is mostly about social acceptance not the religion itself)
