Child support not used for child?

What if a parent who receives child support does not use that money for this children in any way shape or form? Asking because my mother receives child support checks monthly but moved away to a different state half a year ago and has not used the child support on me or my sister for over a year.

There's nothing I can do about it, but just wanted to know if anything could happen.

The person paying the support should contact the court.

It doesn't have to be used for the child. It contributes to the budget of the household, therefore suporting the child indirectly.

Are you living with your mother? If so you have a roof, a bed, food etc etc and child support is paid from one parent to the other to 'help' support the life of that child......

if your mother is not living with you then she should not be getting support for you! tell the people who are paying it to her, Or your father, who i presume is paying it.

If your mother is not supporting you at all (as in she moved away without you, and is not paying who ever is caring for you), then discuss the matter with your father. He's the one that will need to take action and file to have child support dropped. He could also file to have custody since your mother is not providing the care she is supposed to.

If you do not live with her, then she shouldn't' be the one receiving it.

If you are no longer living with your mother, she shouldn't be receiving child support. The father should file for a change of the court order.
