How to follow up on a job application?

I am a 23 year old guy, and currently i am the assistant store manager in a shoe store and i am looking for another job outside of retail, I have been to plenty of interview since i started working and have had plenty of job offers, but i have never found the proper way to follow up on a job application.

I will sometimes call a place that I have applied only to be told that their main HR office in another state handles the application process, or the manager is always busy and i leave my name and phone number and never hear back. Most of the time when i follow up I never get any kind of useful interactions.

My advice to you is to only go to companies where you can walk in their door and apply right in front of them. Dealing with obscure HR offices in other states is a complete waste of your time. You will find a job much easier if you apply in person and deal with them face to face. Do you know how to dress yourself That is important. Dress with your best suit of clothes and appear in person. They can see you and they can determine if you are a good fit for their company. If you are disheveled and unkempt they can tell right away that you are NOT a good fit for their company. If you look clean and neat and appear smart and are tuned into their company from your own research that you did on you own, they will like you immediately.. Good luck.

U haven't had any job offers if no1 has called you from Human Resource from one of the companies you applied to ask you would you accept the position. I think you're trying to say many companies has call you for an interview, but no1 has offered you a job yet!
