No, I think asking questions is the only way to learn things. When I was in college, my roommate got mad at me for asking her questions too, her exact words were "It's really annoying when you ask me what I think all the time". As I recall, we were watching Oprah and my roommate commented on the guest or something and I asked her what she meant. I mean, seriously, you're mad at me because I'm curious to know what you think? How is that a bad thing? It's not like I asked her repeatedly and wouldn't let her go to sleep or bathe or anything.
I think your friend is weird and mean for saying that.
