Most, no. The new Seresto collars work extremely well AND are safe, though. BUT if you allow your cat to roam (which you shouldn't) it should never have a collar on. It will catch it on a branch or fence and end up strangled to death.
Just put your cat on Frontline, Revolution or Advantage.

Not for what they are meant for, no.
All a flea collar does is cause skin issues under where the collar touches, and make the fleas go to the back half of the animal.
The best, safest, flea treatment comes from your vet. Anything else is not safe, and does not work.

No my cat had one when he was about 6 months and they would be everywhere but his neck it was really annoying and got dirty super fast , we ended up with a flea infestation for 6 months :( best thing is to visit the vet and if he or she is a indoor cat make sure to bomb your home because they will end up jumping on you because they can’t get to the cat

No. It's best to get some Frontline or Advantage II, they work better, longer. You can them at WalMart or the vet's office, you don't need an appt.
With a flea collar, the fleas remain but they learn to avoid collar area.
