How can I get into college? :(?

So I graduated in 2015 and haven t gone to college yet. I want to go but can t afford it financially and that s what has been holding me back. I don t know anything about college or how to apply or ANYTHING. I feel so dumb. All my friends are almost graduating and I have yet to attend. I have nobody who can help me. What makes it worse is that I wasn t the best student in HS. Pretty much a C-D student. I was barely passing. I actually graduated in 2016 because I was left back. My counselor told me I had no chance of getting into any college. That really unmotivated me. I feel so stupid. My friends told me community college isn t worth it and I should try and apply to 4 year colleges. I m 20 years old with no idea in what im doing. I feel like a failure. I m thousands of dollars in debt. I know what I wanna do in my life so I don t wanna wait in community college. Also I was wondering how I could apply to a school out of country. Can someone help me?! I just wanna live comfortable and get out of debt!!!

There's NO way you are going to 4-year university bachelor's degree program. Your grades stink. If that was the best you could do in high school, you simply are not college material. If you slacked off, did not work at your studies, your bad habits are another major obstacle, even to community college.

Your best bet is a 2-year vocational program at a community college. You will have to work your way through. Expect to work at least part-time even if you can possibly get some financial aid. If you are already in debt, bad credit ensures you cannot get any student loans.

You need to work your butt off - on a job to pay off your debts & save up some money for school. You need to get into good habits of work, study, organize your time.

Community college is your only option. And unless you can get seriously good grades in community college, a bachelor's degree is not in your near-future, and possibly never. However, with certification in some vocational program at a community college, at least you could get a decent paying job.

Get a meeting with the admissions office at your local community college. With your HS GPA you are not getting into any four year college.

See what two year career programs they offer. I agree with Ibu, that the four year Bachelor route is probably not best for you.

Study aboard cost. Once accepted you must prove you have the funds to attend. You won’t be accepted with you HS GPA

Why are you in debt? Stop spending. Only pay for what is necessary. Plan out a budget. Know where every penny goes. Plan out everything. Never use a credit card.

Get a job. Factory work pays well and gives good benefits. If you can work the night shift it pays more. To get out of debt you need a written plan. There are some good budget apps you can use.

You need to get organized and think about one problem at a time. You say that you are "thousands of dollars in debt." The answer to that problem is to get a job, put yourself on a budget, and gradually pay off the debt. The second thing to do is to get your head on straight. You say that your "friends" told you that community college "isn't worth it." Stop listening to them and start thinking for yourself. You won't know whether it's "worth it" or not until you give it a try. You admit that you weren't a good student and that the counselor discouraged you. That's exactly the kind of person who benefits from community college. Instead of slapping your mind shut without even trying, get up, go out, and visit the admissions office of a community college to find out what they have to offer. You really have two choices. The counselor has told you (probably accurately) that you won't get accepted into any four-year schools, so one choice is to sit around and whine about how unhappy you are. But the other choice is to do what many others have done -- start out at community college, work hard, build up credits and a good GPA, and transfer to a four-year school. The second choice seems to make much better sense, but in the long run it is totally up to you.
