Can you shrink your stomach by eating less?
I've heard that that is a wives tale. I'm wondering if its an appetite thing or if you can literally shrink your stomach from eating very little. After being on a strict diet for one week I'm getting full off of much less then I used to.

I went on a strict diet once and I started getting full too fast. I think it was due to a weakened metabolism that often results from dieting. Whatever, it was the beginning of major digestive issues, so I'd be careful with the dieting if I were you. (I was, incidentally, not dieting to lose weight; it was something I went on to improve my health.)

Yes, your stomach will actually shrink if you eat less. It also grows if you often eat more.

The stomach does expand to accept food...and yes, if it's used to having food constantly in it...and then less food is eaten....the organ itself will shrink down a bit...but it doesn't change the fat accumulated through over eating it's talking about the actual organ the stomach. So, if it helps with appetite control you can certainly start a new eating program and enjoy eating less.
