Boyfriend has red blood in his poo after diarrhoea and eating extremely spicy food?!?

He's 25 and hasn't had this before. Last night we ate a very hot spicy curry and he woke up in the night with diarrhoea and he vomited a few times. The curry seemed to be the cause (not undercooked it was the spice). He still has stomach pain and a few minutes ago went to to toilet again and there was bright red blood when he wiped and red blood in the toilet. He's very scared and it's Saturday so it's hard to get to a GP. Is this worrying? I don't think it's serious but he's terrified he's going to die. He wasn't straining or anything

    he is not going to die... don't eat spicy food

    Spicy food usually has a red colour i would not worry too much i doubt it was blood it may have just been the spice. Mind you vomiting isn't a good sign
